Solutions don’t come easier.
Fairview hinged doors have a remarkable ease of action, with a reassuringly solid ‘clunking’ sound when closed.
Strength and rigidity
The door panel rails (top and bottom of the door), and its stiles (sides), are 40mm thick, which make a strong non-flexing door. Generally the larger rails and stiles the greater the strength and rigidity.
Vision Rails
Full glass hinged doors generally have a ‘vision rail’ some 800mm from the floor. As well as providing visual appeal this is an excellent safety feature.
Weather Performance
As with all Fairview products hinged doors, are designed for the full range of weather conditions. Hinged doors are often the most used door in the home, so consider your options carefully.
Choice of styles
There is a standard bottom rail. Fairview also offers a deep rail, to increase rigidity, giving a look that is both substantial and traditional. Those preferring a lighter look can choose a narrower rail. Aluminium infill for the bottom panel is available, while our various glass options also give different looks.
Clearance
These doors can either be ‘open in’ (open in to the room) or ‘open out’ (to the outside), depending on what the door position dictates or what you prefer.
Appearance
Using obscure glass is popular, to allow light entry while enhancing privacy.
Security Doors
These can be manufactured and colour matched when your windows are being prepared for your new home. They can also be fitted into most existing homes.
Applications
Hinged doors are popular for external doors leading to practical workspaces, including laundries and workshops.
Locking
Depending on the look you are trying to create, the choice of either placing a lock in the side of the door or in the horizontal panel is up to you. Check your options before making a decision.
